Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the DDoS threat landscape, transforming how attacks are designed, executed, and defended against. As both adversaries and security teams operationalize AI to gain speed, scale, and precision, understanding this dual-use evolution is critical to maintaining service availability and resilience.
This presentation will be divided into the following sections:
1) Introduction: The session will start with an introduction to the AI security “boom” and how it shapes today’s online service availability.
2) Use of AI by Attackers: The session will explore how AI is being exploited to enhance attacker capabilities.
We will look at real-world examples of how AI assists in identifying weak spots, finding the right attack vectors, writing new attack vectors, and enhancing existing attack vectors.
In addition, we will provide unique, data-driven insights into the increased risk and success rate of AI-driven DDoS attacks.
3) Use of AI for DDoS Mitigation: We will look at innovative techniques such as nondisruptive DDoS testing, which, for the first time, allows us to continuously run tests and empower security teams to adopt a proactive approach to DDoS protection.
We will also explore how AI can boost the speed of nondisruptive DDoS testing.
